Responsible Gambling at 1Red: A Starter Guide to Staying in Control
If you are new to online gambling, set your limits before your first deposit at 1Red, not after. Gambling here is paid entertainment for adults — 18 or the higher legal age where you live. This starter guide explains how to plan a session, how self-exclusion works, the signs that gambling is becoming a problem and where to find independent help.
Before your first session
- Set a budget in CAD you can afford to lose entirely.
- Set a time limit and stick to it.
- Try games in demo mode so you understand them before spending money.
- Decide whether you want a bonus at all — they come with wagering and caps.
During a session
- Stop when the budget or time runs out, win or lose.
- Do not chase losses with bigger bets or extra deposits.
- Take breaks, and do not play when stressed, low or under the influence of medication, drugs or alcohol.
- Check Wallet/Balance to see what you have actually spent.
If you need a break: self-exclusion
Self-exclusion for a set period or permanently is requested by e-mail to [email protected] from your registered address. The full rules are in 1Red's Responsible Gaming policy on 1red.com.
Signs that it is becoming a problem
Spending more time or money than intended, chasing losses, using money meant for essentials, borrowing or selling things to keep playing, hiding gambling from others, feeling restless when not playing, and problems at work, school or home. If several sound familiar, stop and talk to someone.
Minors
Under-18s, or anyone below the legal age where they live, may not gamble at 1Red. ID can be requested at any time, verification services are used and suspected under-age accounts are suspended and investigated. Keep logins private on shared devices.
